Fashion Icons
In our Vector Graphics class, we were assigned to work on an icon set of an interest of our choice. I decided to illustrate fashion styles through the years. I looked through different pictures from the 1950s to-2000s, noted all the different types of trends from hair to makeup, and implemented them in each of my illustrations.
I created the shape of the face, nose, and lips first with a pen tool and shape tool, then customized the hair and accessories for each model. After the outlines finished, I created a new layer beneath the outlines and used different colors that fit each decade. From there, I used an eyedropper tool on certain shades and adjusted darker and lighter shades of the colors to make shadows and highlights on the icons so they can add dimension.
The audience that this design would be geared towards are fashion enthusiasts, especially those who were fans of specific looks during a certain decade.
